For this year’s festival, we will be holding a Very Special Art Contest.

  • Who Can Enter?

    Children and Adults with disabilities and their siblings, ages 5 and older.

  • How Do I Enter?

    By dropping your Artwork off at the CIDA Community Center!

  • How Much Does it Cost to Enter?

    Nothing! Entry is FREE!

  • Where & When Can I Submit Artwork?

    Brin your art work and submit it to CIDA Community Center (36-28 Bell BLVD. Bayside, NY 11361) from August 14th through 25th, 11am-3pm.

    Any artwork submitted later than this will not be considered for entry. The Community Center is open Monday through Friday.

  • What Kind of Artwork Should I Create?

    Use your imagination! Create anything that you feel fits this year’s theme: Color the World!

  • What are the Artwork Specification(size)?

    We are only accepting 2D works this year created on paper or canvas. No 3D work will be accepted or considered for entry.

    Works on paper : 18in x 24in

    Works on canvas : 16in x 20in

    You may submit up to 2 artworks.

  • May I Receive Help on my Artwork?

    Although you may receive advice or guidance from others, only the artist can physically touch the artwork. If we suspect someone else helped to create it, you may be disqualified from the contest.

  • Are There Any Prizes?

    Yes! Our first place 2023 Very Special Art Contest winner will be given a $500 scholarship!

    We will also be awarding the top ten submissions with trophies!

    Everyone will receive recognition for their artwork on CIDA’s Very Special Art Festival Website.

  • What will Happen to my Artwork?

    Selected artworks will have the opportunity to be displayed at St. John’s University at a special awards ceremony on September 23. More details to come.

    All artwork will be returned to the artist upon completion of the contest.
