2022 Very Special Art Festival

“This is Me”

On September 24th, CIDA hosted its Seventh Annual Art Festival. This year’s Art Festival revolved around the concept of Individuality – “This Is Me” featuring Special Guest, Mo Kong – Artist-in-Residence at the Queens Museum. Artworks highlighted a sense of “What it is like being you”. This Art Festival was opened to Children and Adults with Disabilities and their families and more than 100 people came to celebrate and show their support.

Art & Inclusion

During the day, participants had the opportunity to get creative and showcase their artwork bonding with others who share a similar interest in art, meeting new and interesting faces, and also making new memories filled with joy and laughter. Most importantly, this event allowed community members and students of all ages to interact with families with disabilities learning and acting on the Social Inclusion of persons with disabilities.

Our Next Step

Over the years, The Very Special Art Festival hosted by CIDA has become a place where many young artists with disabilities discover their talents, get acknowledged as artists and pursue their careers in art. CIDA is currently working on linking the VSAF with the Art Initiative at CoSpire, CIDA's Workforce Development Project to create social and economic opportunities for these young people with disabilities.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support
